TZe Tapes

TZ Brother P-touch laminated tapes consist of six layers of materials, resulting in a thin, extremely strong label. The marks are transferred to the tape by thermal transfer method and placed between two protective layers of PET (polyester film). The result is a virtually indestructible label, resistant to the devastating effects of even the most adverse conditions. We are confident in the durability of our labels because we have tested them under extreme conditions for resistance to abrasion, temperature, chemicals and sunlight. The results of this research prove that Brother's P-touch laminate labels leave behind competing solutions, remaining constantly legible and attached on site, thus confirming the professional quality of the markings created to serve for years.

Mobile printers are best suited for any work related to marking installations, boxes, electrical switchboards, marking surfaces exposed to extreme factors, weather conditions, etc. All models can be connected to a computer, and portable ones can work without connecting to a computer. They have built-in fonts, symbols, frames, etc. They can print barcodes, work with databases, you can save your own label patterns in them. The latest models of PT printers allow you to import and export settings and patterns for printing with a computer. The included program and accessories expand the functions of the devices and meet the most professional requirements, including the printing of safety seals or tags for pressing, for example, on clothes or other materials.

Frequently asked questions:

How thick are TZ tapes?
TZ tapes have a thickness of about 160 micrometers, slight differences occur depending on the type of tape.

What color is recommended for high temperatures?
We recommend TZ-M931/961 (black on a matte silver background) as the most resistant to discoloration at high temperatures.

Will there be any adhesive residue left after removing the label? How do I remove them?
From most materials, tapes can be easily removed without leaving at all or leaving little glue on the material. Extreme heat, humidity and certain chemicals can cause glue residues to remain, but in most cases they can be easily removed with ethanol.

Do TZ tapes contain chloride?
No chloride substances were used in the cassette housing, tape or ink.

Do TZ tapes emit any gases?
The following gases can be emitted when the labels are in a hot environment, e.g. in front of an air conditioner: toluene, n-butanol, alcohol
2-Ethylhexyl, carbinol butyl acetate. However, their concentrations are very low.

Can TZ tapes be immersed in alcohol?
Immersion of TZ tapes in alcohol for a long time is not recommended due to the possibility of deterioration of the tape adhesion.

Is it safe to burn the P-touch label?
Although there may be some halogen in TZ tapes, its concentration is very low, which makes it safe to burn TZ tapes.

Do TZ tapes contain silicone?
Since the lining of the tape is coated with silicone on both sides, there is a possibility that small amounts of silicone may remain on the adhesive layer under the label, even if the lining is peeled off.

Do TZ tapes produce static electricity?
When peeling off the tape, a very low level of static electricity may occur.

Which color of the tape fades the least?
We recommend the TZ-M931/961 (Black on a matte silver background) as our most fading resistant tape. Fluorescent tapes are not recommended.

Do TZ tapes contain lead?
The cassette housing, tape and ink are lead-free.

Can TZ tapes be used on printed circuit boards?
We do not recommend using TZ tapes on printed circuit boards due to their sensitivity to dust, static electricity and acid (although these are found in TZ tapes in very small quantities).

UL Certification

Many of our TZ tapes have been tested by Underwriters Laboratories, an independent testing laboratory of world renown. Our belts have passed their rigorous standards and achieved UL certification, and we continue to test the newly introduced tapes. The latest certification information and a list of certified tapes is available from Brother's local office.
